About

Hadi Naghavipour is a Lecturer and Researcher with a PhD in Computer Science and extensive experience across academia and industry. He holds a Bachelor of Telecommunication Engineering, a Master of Software Engineering (Merit) from the United Kingdom, and a PhD in Theoretical Computer Science from the University of Malaya (QS World University Ranking: 58).

His teaching experience spans more than a decade across multiple Australian universities — Charles Sturt University, RMIT, Melbourne Institute of Technology, and Victoria Institute of Technology — as well as Unitar International University in Malaysia, the first virtual university in Southeast Asia, where he was promoted to Senior Lecturer within his first year.

His research in computational intelligence and granular computing is applied to digital assets, cloud service composition, and data-driven marketing analytics. He founded the Digital Nomad Council (DNC) — an initiative researching the commercialisation, governance, and workforce implications of digital assets. He serves on the editorial board of the Asia Journal of Social Science and reviews for IEEE and Frontiers journals.

Hybrid Meta-heuristics for QoS-aware Service Composition

My PhD research developed novel hybrid computational intelligence techniques — combining meta-heuristics with rough sets and fuzzy systems — to solve the NP-hard problem of quality-of-service-aware service composition in cloud environments. This produced a systematic mapping study in IEEE Access (27 citations), a rough-set hybrid, and a fuzzified variant presented at DaSET 2023.

Digital Assets, AI Governance & the Digital Nomad Council

Applied research through the Digital Nomad Council (dncouncil.org) investigates commercialisation, governance, and workforce implications of digital assets and blockchain. A Microsoft-funded grant supports development of an ICT policy framework for mitigating AI disruption risk. This work bridges computational theory with real-world regulatory and economic outcomes.
